Social media was spilling over with runway pictures of Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson takeover at the Valentino’s Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear show. Some called it phenomenal; others called it impetuous. Regardless of varying opinions that divided the fashion cool kids into two groups, it was one memorable collection.
We’re all for pretty yet practical blouses here at Stylish Sophisticate, even more so when it comes adorned with Victorian lace, collar bows and voluminous ruffles. The designers for Valentino, Maris Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, summed up in a preview, “We think you should be free to be who your are.” The entire collection was inspired by Emilie Louise Flöge, an Austrian designer, fashion designer and businesswoman. She was Gustav Klimt’s lover and his muse for one of his famous paintings. Another inspiration for this collection was Celia Birtwell, a British textile designer known for her bold and feminine designs and was famously painted by David Hockney.
We love how work-appropriate these blouses are and have it high up on our fall work clothing shopping lists. We have gathered a few Valentino pieces straight from the runway and some more affordable options for you to add a bit of romantic flair into your officewear.
